Terms of Service
Last updated: March 17, 2026
Short version: Use VibeLint only on code you own or have permission to scan. Don't use it to attack systems. Pay your subscription. We're not liable for security issues the tool misses.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using VibeLint ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using VibeLint on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
VibeLint is a security scanning tool designed to detect vulnerabilities and security issues in software projects, particularly those developed with AI assistance ("vibe-coded" projects). The Service includes:
- VibeLint Free (OSS): An open-source CLI tool available at no charge, licensed under the MIT License.
- VibeLint Pro: A paid subscription (currently $19.99/month when billed monthly, or $199/year when billed annually) providing access to additional detectors, a web dashboard, cloud logs, and CI/CD integration features.
3. Accounts
To use VibeLint Pro you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Keeping your license key secure and not sharing it with others
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at support@vibelint.dev
Each license key is for use by a single user. Sharing a license key with multiple users is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination without refund.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
VibeLint may only be used to scan code and systems that you own or have explicit written permission to test.
4.1 Permitted uses
- Scanning your own source code and projects
- Scanning code within your organization that you are authorized to access
- Scanning open-source projects for the purpose of contributing security improvements
- Security research on systems you own or have written permission to test
- Educational use in controlled, isolated environments
4.2 Prohibited uses
You must not use VibeLint to:
- Scan systems without authorization — scanning, probing, or testing any system, network, or codebase that you do not own or do not have explicit written permission to test
- Assist in unauthorized access — using scan results to exploit vulnerabilities in systems you are not authorized to access
- Circumvent security controls — using VibeLint as part of any attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, or other security mechanisms without permission
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service as a service to third parties without our written consent
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of VibeLint Pro
- Share your license key with other users or organizations
- Use automated means to create multiple accounts
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws, including computer fraud and abuse laws in your jurisdiction
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate account termination, reporting to law enforcement, and civil or criminal liability. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
5. Subscription and Billing
5.1 Pricing
VibeLint Pro is offered at $19.99 per month per user when billed monthly, or $199 per year per user when billed annually. Pricing may change with 30 days advance notice to existing subscribers.
5.2 Billing cycle
Depending on the plan you choose, subscriptions renew monthly or annually on the date you first subscribed. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. By subscribing, you authorize Dodo Payments to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
5.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Billing page in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then. After cancellation, your license key is revoked and the Pro CLI will stop functioning.
5.4 Refunds
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers. If you are not satisfied within 7 days of your first payment, contact us at support@vibelint.dev for a full refund. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
5.5 Failed payments
If a payment fails, we will retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected, your account will be downgraded to the free plan and your license key will be revoked.
6. No Warranty on Security Coverage
VibeLint is a security assistance tool, not a guarantee of security.
The Service is designed to help identify common security issues in code. However:
- VibeLint does not guarantee that it will detect all vulnerabilities, security issues, or misconfigurations in your code
- A clean scan result does not mean your code is free of security issues
- New vulnerability patterns emerge continuously — VibeLint's detectors may not cover vulnerabilities that were unknown at the time of the last update
- VibeLint is a complement to, not a replacement for, professional security audits, penetration testing, and secure coding practices
You are solely responsible for the security of your applications and systems.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 VibeLint IP
VibeLint Free is open-source software licensed under the MIT License. VibeLint Pro is proprietary software. All rights, title, and interest in VibeLint Pro — including all intellectual property rights — are owned by the Operator. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use VibeLint Pro for the duration of your active subscription.
7.2 Your code
You retain full ownership of all code you scan with VibeLint. We do not claim any rights over your source code. We do not access, read, transmit, or store your source code (see our Privacy Policy).
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VIBELINT OR ITS OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Security breaches that occur even when VibeLint was used
- Data loss or corruption
- Business interruption or lost profits
- Vulnerabilities not detected by the Service
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms, particularly the Acceptable Use Policy
- We are required to do so by law
- Continued service poses a legal or security risk
You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us at support@vibelint.dev.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to binding arbitration before pursuing litigation.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
